DPR Coach Training

Denver Parks & Recreation Coaches (full-time staff, on-call staff, and volunteers) are asked to attend trainings as follows:

"Know Your Impact" or "Positive Coaching" Training

  • Offered seasonally by Youth Sports and/or Recreation Centers
  • Coaches should attend prior to their first season, then once annually

Sport-Specific Seasonal Training

  • Offered seasonally by Youth Sports
  • Coaches should attend for any season they are actively coaching a team

Please note: These trainings are in addition to any preseason coaches meetings or trainings offered by your Recreation Center.

    Annual Self-Paced Coach Trainings

    In addition to seasonal trainings, coaches are asked to complete the following free, self-paced National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) and/or CDC trainings.

    On-call (part-time) staff may clock in while completing these trainings. Please upload completion certificates to your Workday profile (Career => Certifications).

    Volunteer coaches may email their completion certificates to YouthSports.Recreation@denvergov.org.
